About
As the global economy evolves, enhancing Europe’s competitiveness is more important than ever. The European Commission is dedicated to streamlining business operations and strengthening the Single Market to ensure long-term prosperity. Building upon its new Competitiveness Compass, a strategic guide for economic growth and productivity, driven by innovation and sustainability, the Commission has recently presented its Clean Industrial Deal with concrete actions to turn decarbonisation into a driver of growth for European industries. In addition, the Commission has proposed its first omnibus, a new package of proposals to simplify EU rules on sustainability and EU investments, all to boost competitiveness, and unlock additional investment capacity.
In this context, a series of events “2025 EU Finance Days: Financing Competitiveness”, will showcase how the topics of competitiveness and sustainability intersect on a European scale. The second event will take place on 19 June in Rome, Italy.
This event will bring together policymakers and key stakeholders – including representatives from Estonia’s authorities and the business and financial sectors – to steer the debate on boosting the European competitiveness. The event will also explore the InvestEU sustainability guarantee, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the InvestEU implementing partners and beneficiaries.
The high-level opening session will be followed by three focused sessions:
